Scale Keys Cards

A$10.00

Practising scales doesn’t have to be boring!! By mixing things up with what you focus on, and by changing the bowings and rhythms you can actually have FUN playing scales!

Did you know that you can practice EVERY skill you need to learn on the violin in a scale? Scales are also scattered all throughout the pieces so they’re so beneficial to practice. They also help you learn and understand the keys and their finger patterns for your pieces. However, if you practice them the same way thinking about one note after the next they can become boring and monotonous. However, these cards are here to change that!

There are different sets of scales cards in the Scale Keys Cards:

There is one set with literally EVERY scale and arpeggio I could think of on them in EVERY key. As you learn one pop them into your cup and pull out one to practice.

There is also a set with a key in dark blue and then a scale or arpeggio in bright yellow - so you can pull out two cards and create your own scale to play for a practice SURPRISE!

There is also another set that has just the keys for just scales and arpeggios in major, harmonic minor and melodic minor keys if that also takes your fancy.

These cards are divided into colour:
Red is about the bowing (bow strokes, articulation, direction, etc).
Orange is about the rhythm and keeping a steady beat
Yellow is Practice Inspiration
Dark Yellow are Practice Challenges
Bright Green is about the Shifting
Bright Blue is about the fingering (including finger patterns)
Dark Blue is about the dynamics
Purple is about the musicality and characterisation
Turquoise is about technique and posture

There are 400 cards in total. There are also various files to print them out either using a coloured printer, or a black and white printer with coloured card.

It is recommended to practice the “Scales Cards” set of cards to match this one.

The purchase of this set of cards is for use by ONE teacher or ONE home. Sharing this PDF with others (including colleagues or students) is strictly forbidden. Replication in paper or digital formats of this PDF for commercial purposes is also strictly forbidden.
