STUDY AND UNIVERSITY
Tiana Angus began playing the violin at age four with the Suzuki Method after being inspired by seeing Itzhak Perlman playing on Sesame Street. She has loved playing the violin ever since. In 1998 Tiana began studying with the renowned pedagogue, Ms Elizabeth Morgan AM who (before her retirement) was regarded as one of the finest violin teachers in Australia.
Under Elizabeth’s guidance, Tiana completed a Bachelor of Music with Honours in Violin Performance in 2005 at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. Upon completing this degree Tiana was awarded the Patience Thoms Honours scholarship which is awarded for academic excellence to one Honours student from Griffith University studying any degree. Following this, Tiana was offered a full scholarship to complete a Masters of Music majoring in Violin Performance and String Pedagogy, which she attained in 2009.
Throughout Tiana’s Bachelors Degree she completed six Violin Pedagogy subjects that were lectured by Elizabeth Morgan. Tiana received a High Distinction for each of these. Tiana also completed two Pedagogy Internships in her Masters of Music degree.
